Went up through Parishville to Catharineville. It's a ghost town, with a bunch of cellar holes and a few falling-down buildings. Oh, and a LOT of stone walls surrounded by woods. Farmers only bothered to collect stones off cleared fields, so ... it must have been pretty tree-less at one point. But the soil up to Parishville is thin and underneath it is sand. Not good for crops; only good for pine trees.
